What are the test items of rubber fenders?
Rubber fenders are widely used on the vessels and wharves to absorb collision energy during the berthing process, which is to protect ships and wharves.
Nanjing Deers are specialized in manufacturing and supplying rubber fenders. After manufacturing, we must inspect these fenders to ensure their quality are in complied with the requirement. Here are the test items we usually do.
The test items mainly include performance testing, apperance testing, and material test of rubber.
Performance testing
The performance testing of rubber fender are also known as fender compression test. Rubber fenders are compressed in a large test press until their design deflection, while the reaction force is measured with pressure transducers. It is the most important test items, and it is performed on the fenders to ensure that it fulfills the performance requirements.
Apperance testing
The apperance testing is to check the Logo and observed whether the appearance is smooth and cracked. Besides, we also need to measure the size of the whole and the installation hole, accessories of a certain number of random selection, fenders.
Material test of rubber
Material test is to ensure rubber performance are in complied with the requirement. It mainly include the testing of tear resistance, ozone resistance, seawater resistance, abrasion resistance, bond strength,dynamic fatigue, elongation at break, hardness and density.
