On July 20, the China Transportation Bureau announced the top 30 container throughput of China’s ports from January to June 2020. Among them, Shanghai Port ranked first with 20.06 million TEU. We have provided fenders for the construction and maintenance of many ports.
In the first half of 2020, the container throughput of SHANGHAI Port reached 20.06 million TEU, and it continued to rank first in the container throughput of China’s ports. Due to the impact of the epidemic, the growth rate of SHANGHAI Port decreased by 6.9% over the same period.
In the 2019 TOP100 global container port rankings, SHANGHAI Port ranked first for ten consecutive years in the world. However, in February 2020, due to the impact of the epidemic, the lowest single-day throughput of SHANGHAI Port was only 2,000 TEU. It is reported that after the resumption of work and production in China, on March 25 alone, the YANGSHAN Port Area completed 56,000 TEUs. At present, the average throughput of SHANGHAI Port’s centralized containers has exceeded 0.11 million TEUs, basically returning to 90% of the normal level. . In the first half of 2020, SHANGHAI Port will carry out business reforms, implement the ICD model (Inland Container Depot), promote the overall efficiency of the terminal, and make it clear that SHANGHAI Port will strive to maintain its position as the world’s number one.
As the world’s largest port in terms of cargo throughput, NINGBNO ZHOUSHAN Port completed a container throughput of 13.25 million TEU, a speed decrease of 4.7%. Among them,ZHOUSHAN Port completed a container throughput of 0.82million TEU.
The container throughput of QINZHOU Port of Beibu Gulf Port was 1.63 million TEU, a speed increase of 28.10%. QINZHOU Port is a natural deep-water port on the southwest coast of my country. It has wide waters, low wind and waves, small incoming sand, stable beaches, and favorable conditions for building deep-water berths. In recent years, QINZHOU Port has developed very rapidly. During the epidemic, Beibu Gulf Port QINZHOU Terminal Co., Ltd. has not stopped work and production. On the contrary, the continuous gathering of logistics has kept the company’s operations at a high level. For GUANDONG ports, the cargo throughput and container throughput of GUANGZHOU Port are in a weak downward trend. SHENZHEN Port completed a container throughput of 11.07 million TEU, a speed decrease of 10.8%. According to the current situation, the container throughput of GUANGZHOU Port has a tendency to exceed SHENZHEN Port. After the ship height limit of Hong Kong’s Tsing Ma Bridge is increased, 15%-20% of container ships will be added to the western ports of SHENZHEN.
The container throughput of QINGDAO Port, Rizhao Port, and YANTAI Port, the main ports in SHANDONG, increased by 0.3%, 4.8%, and 2.1% respectively. The SHANDONG Provincial Port Group stated that SHANDONG Port has added 30 new routes, including 14 foreign trade routes, and the total number of routes is nearly 300. At the same time, it has also built 2 inland ports and opened 5 new train routes to complete the sea. The volume of rail combined transport was 947,000 TEUs, a speed increase of 15.5%. At the same time, we will promote the signing of strategic cooperation agreements with 16 cities in SHANDONG Province to accelerate the docking of port resources, functions and cities.
Among the three major ports in FUJIAN Province, the container throughput of the three major ports of FUZHOU, QUANZHOU, and XIAMEN is in a state of decline. Among them,XIAMEN Port completed a container throughput of 5.3 million TEU, a speed decrease of 4.6%. Taking the data from 19 weeks to 26 weeks as an example, due to the impact of the epidemic, the suspension of container liners at XIAMEN Port accounts for 15%.
For the two major ports in LIAONING, DALIAN Port completed a container volume of 2.98 million TEU, a speed decrease of 31.6%.YINGKOU Port completed a container throughput of 2.64 million tons, a speed decrease of 6.2%. In the future, DALIAN Port (601880) plans to absorb and merge YINGKOU Port (600317) with RMB 16.8 billion. The surviving company will include 2,732 kilometers of coastline in LIAONING and become the core port in Northeast China, enhancing the port’s competitiveness.
In the first half of 2020, all ports in China completed a container throughput of 120 million TEU, a decrease of 5.4% over the same period last year. According to the latest forecast of the International Monetary Fund, the world economy will decline by 4.9% this year, and the World Bank predicts that the global economy will decline by 5.2%, the worst economic recession since World War II. Uncertainty and unstable factors facing China’s foreign trade development have obviously increased. Superimposed on the impact of Sino-US economic and trade frictions, the import and export situation in the second half of the year remains complex and severe.
