On September 1, the Tuas Port of Singapore officially opened, and the third berth of the first development stage has been put into use.
The Tuas Port, which covers an area of more than 1,330 hectares and costs more than $20 billion, will be developed in four stages. The first two berths in the first phase have been put into operation at the end of last year, and the third one is also recently opened. There are currently about 500 people working in the Tuas mega port. When completed in 2040, the entire port will be able to handle up to 65 million TEUs per year, nearly double the current throughput.
