Ship Launching Airbags Standard: ISO 14409:2011
Date:2022-11-17
The standard ISO 14409:2011 for ship launching airbags came into effect on September 1, 2011, which prescribes various aspects of launching airbags.
ISO 14409:2011 standard is applicable to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of nylon cord fabric dipping ship launching airbags. It divides marine airbags into the following two categories: ordinary marine airbags, represented by QP; high-capacity marine airbags, represented by QG. The types and models of marine airbags are shown in the table below.

In addition, the ISO 14409:2011standard specifies the test conditions of ship launching airbags and the test methods such as air tightness test and compression test. The inspection of marine airbag is divided into type test and factory inspection. Type test items are: air tightness test, compression test, unit length bearing capacity test, blasting test, and compression recovery test. Factory inspection includes appearance inspection, dimensional inspection, and air tightness inspection. The standard also specifies marking, packaging, transportation, and storage methods.
