Fishing harbour expansion project in Japanese

Japanese government supports the Albert Bosumtwe-Sam Fishing Harbour expansion in Sekondi in the Western Region.

Expansion works have received $17 million funded by the Japanese government, which involves additional plant building, administration offices, water supply facility, pavement of the area behind the fishing handling shed and access drive way with canoe berthing facility.

The harbour expansion project is contracted by ECOH Corporation of Japan, which is expected to be completed in December in 2017. The project will provide about 1200 job opportunities for local people and also increase their incomes.

Relevant people in charge explained that the Japanese government had borne the entire project sum, and urged the people to provide the necessary support during the construction process.
