Cape Verde – tender of Port of Palmeira modernization and expansion project

The Master Plan for the Port of Palmeira in Sal was prepared on 27 August 2007 for a period of 25 years. The port infrastructure planned under the project is located on the islands of Maio and Sal. For Porto Inglês in Maio, the project will entail (i) rehabilitation and repair of defects found on the existing quay which is 350 meters long and 15 meters wide; (ii) the construction of two roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ramps and their accesses; (iii) the construction of a 150 meter-long breakwater dike; (iv) the rehabilitation and extension of the port embankment to transform it into a storage area and protect it against marine erosion; and (v) upgrading of the 0.8 km access road leading to the port.
