The General Layout of Discharge Pipeline on Marine Dredging Projects

According to the terrain of project conditions, the layout of the discharge pipeline should be chosen flexibly to minimize its length and the impact of mud during the slurry dredging process. The following factors should be taken into account when it comes to the overall layout:

(1) The whole pipeline is easily affected by water flow, wind, and waves, and the impact force when the pump is stopped and operated during marine construction operation, the pipeline layout should be streamlined and curved, and the connection between the pipelines must be firm and reliable.

(2) The pipeline on the water surface still needs to be exposed during dredging operation, which is convenient for maintenance and towing.

(3) It is determined according to the characteristics of tide and water flow to select the best installation position of hall anchors.

(4) The connection between the offshore dredging pipeline and the onshore pipeline should be selected according to the topography and water level changes to prevent serious bending of pipe sections due to tidal water level changes.
