Steps to repair the hole on marine airbags

Marine airbags are also well known as ship launching airbags, used in the maritime industry. Those rubber airbags are strong and durable, have more than 6 years’ lifespan. But they are made of rubber and nylon cords, they can be punctured by sharp steel or stones.

Steps to repair the hole on airbags:

1.After tiling the airbag, find the damaged position, and extend it into the slits maintenance platform. Drag the damaged airbag to the middle of the maintenance platform.

2.Use the polishing machine to polish the damaged position of the airbag, and the gap of 10-20cm is extended outside the tear. When the damage is large, it is necessary to suture the broken part with iron wire or repair the material skeleton line. There is no need to suture the small damage.

3.Cut the repair material horizontally and vertically, cut the damaged position, and then paste it. Brush adhesive in the middle, and finally stick the outer wireless rubber sheet.

4.Brush the damaged part with adhesive and brush it several times until it rises. Attach the prepared material to the damaged polish. Paving.

5.Place a piece of newspaper on the repair material, place the heating plate on the edge of the damage, place the jack between the heating plate and the maintenance platform, and manually press until the pressure stops.

6.When the heating plate is energized with a 220V voltage, the heating plate starts to work. Put the thermometer on the lower surface of the heating plate and observe the temperature change for a long time. After the power is cut off, the temperature will rise a little, and the repair will be completed when the temperature naturally cools to below 80℃.
