Damen Shipyard Hardinxveld in Holland signed a contract with Baggerbedrijf De Boer B.V.(Dutch Dredging) for two tugs,which is custom and special-purpose tugs.The two tugs are for a 10-year contract with Grand Port Maritime de Guyane in the ports of Cayenne and Kourou in French Guyana according to Damen shipyard.
The two tugs will play an important role in assiting vessels entering and deviating from port, and offering help in the event of emergencies including fire-fighting. And they will be used in assiting with maintenance dredging operations in the ports of Cayenne and Kourou in French Guyana.
The two tugs will not only used in supporting vessel available to either port, but also will be used in transportation of equipment and cargo.Moreover these two tugs are also be designed to meet the development of the designs of its own consultant to help optimize the dredging.The larger one of these two tugs will be configured for kinds of functions, like dredging using air and water injection dredging.
