What is the construction of pneumatic fenders?
Pneumatic fenders from Nanjing Deers are kind of a cylindrical airbag with hemispherical heads at both ends. It mainly include basic body, flange, safety valve, metal accessories, chains and tyre nets.
Basic Body
Basic body of pneumatic fenders consists of outer rubber layer, cord layer and inner rubber layer. All of these are vulcanized together, and then proven by hydraulic pressure test.
Flange
Steel flange is mounted on the fender end, to which an air valve or safety valve can be adapted.
Safety Valve
When the diameter of pneumatic fenders is over 2500mm, they will be equipped with safety devices for releasing excess material inside to apply pressure when the fender is unexpectedly overcompressed.
Metal Accessories
The metal accessories include shackles, swivels, and chain net. All of them are made of stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized to resist see water corrosion.
Chains and Tyre Net
Almost all the pneumatic fenders are equipped with chain and tyre net. They are used to protect fender body from sharp objects or protrusions(such as rough-facing wharf walls).
