How to Install Cylindrical Rubber Fenders on a Dock?
Date:2024-05-14
Cylindrical rubber fenders are favored by terminal operators and widely used in ship berthing operations. But do you know how to install cylindrical rubber fenders on a dock?
The installation methods for cylindrical rubber fenders mainly include the following three types:
OD < 600mm: Chain, Bracket/U-Anchor
Small cylindrical rubber fenders are typically suspended by chains and connected to brackets or U-anchors on the dock wall.
600 ≤ OD < 1600mm:
Steel Bar, Chain, Bracket/U-Anchor
Large cylindrical rubber fenders usually utilize a steel bar, with both ends connected to brackets or U-anchors on the dock wall through chains.
OD ≥ 1600mm: Ladder Frame
Very large cylindrical rubber fenders require special ladder frames to secure them due to their weight.
In addition, cylindrical rubber fenders can be produced in virtually any length and diameter required for port applications, including berths serving general cargo ships, workboats and other types of vessels. With proper installation and maintenance, cylindrical rubber fenders will continue to provide effective protection for safe operation of ships and terminals.
